Rodney Daniel, MD

Dr. Daniel joined Bay Area Rheumatology in June 2018.  Dr. Daniel enjoys treating all rheumatologic diseases including, but not limited to, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and psoriatic arthritis. More importantly, he values educating his patients on the disease process and therapeutic options. Dr. Daniel consistently incorporates patient preference, cost, and practicality in treatment decisions. Dr. Daniel spent his formative years in Miami, Florida where he completed high school. He later obtained a bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry at Florida International University, graduating cum laude. After college, Dr. Daniel matriculated into the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He transitioned to the Jackson Memorial and Miami Veterans Hospitals for Internal Medicine Residency and was recognized as the Paff Outstanding Resident Teacher in his final year of training. Dr. Daniel pursued his rheumatology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina and simultaneously obtained a Masters Degree in Clinical Research. Dr. Daniel has practiced rheumatology in various sectors including academic, multi-specialty, and single specialty settings.  Dr. Daniel is the Assistant Program Director for Bayonet Pointe Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program and is an Assistant Professor at the HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine. He is also rheumatology faculty at Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He has participated in multiple clinical trials.

Adam J. Grunbaum, DO

Adam J Grunbaum, DO FACOI FACR FACP has been practicing Rheumatology in the Tampa Bay Area since 2013 and has been located in Trinity, Florida at Gulf Coast Rheumatology since 2018. Dr. Grunbaum serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor with both the Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine and University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Grunbaum is the Program Director for the Rheumatology Fellowship Program at Bayonet Point Hospital which is part of the HCA Healthcare Florida / University of South Florida Graduate Medical Education Consortium involved in training physicians throughout the Tampa Bay Area. Teaching has always been a passion for Dr. Grunbaum. He has been involved in his local community since graduation, not only with teaching the next generation of physicians, but actively involved with education in the community and outreach programs including the Arthritis Foundation, Tampa Bay Bone Coalition as well as the Tampa Bay Health & Medical Preparedness Coalition. He is a fellow member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Internists and American College of Rheumatology. He also holds appointments within several state level physician organizations such as his recent involvement with the American College of Rheumatology’s Educational task force which has been providing lectures to underserved Internal Medicine Residencies with Rheumatology education throughout the US. He continues to have active participation as a speaker for many of regional and national meetings. His clinic is actively involved with clinical research studies primarily focused on rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and gout. In his spare time, Dr. Grunbaum enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing and supporting all of the Tampa Bay sports teams.

Ernesto Rodriguez, MD

Ernesto Rodriguez, M.D., RhMSUS, is a practicing rheumatologist and partner at Florida Medical Clinic, a multispecialty group in the greater Tampa Bay area with offices in both Hillsborough and Pasco Counties. He maintains clinical affiliations with the University of South Florida and the HCA Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center rheumatology fellowships, where he is an Affiliate Assistant Professor. Born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he received his medical degree from the Ponce School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine and rheumatology at the University of South Florida. Besides patient care, Dr. Rodriguez leads the rheumatology MSK ultrasound department at Florida Medical Clinic and conducts clinical trials on musculoskeletal imaging and emerging therapies for rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and osteoporosis. He is also a member of several local, national and international organizations including the Florida Society of Rheumatologists (FSR), the  American College of Rheumatology (ACR),  the Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network (SPARTAN), the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) and Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) .Outside of the office Dr. Rodriguez enjoys spending his time with his wife, two children and his golden retriever, Frida. In his spare time he enjoys a good book, the Florida beaches and traveling.

Julio Gonzalez, MD

Dr. Gonzalez Paoli, MD, is a rheumatologist with Florida Medical Clinic LLC in Tampa, Florida. He is also an assistant professor at the rheumatology fellowship programs in the University of South Florida and the HCA Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center. Dr. Gonzalez-Paoli received his medical degree from Universidad Central Del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and then went on to the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida, for his internal medicine residency and his rheumatology fellowship. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. He has a special interest in psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and on all novel therapies for rheumatic diseases, and has lectured on these topics at multiple local and national meetings. Dr. Gonzalez Paoli is also involved in clinical research and has served as principal investigator in multiple clinical trials of FDA approved therapies. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Rheumatology, the Tampa Bay Latin American Medical Society, Florida Society of Rheumatology, GRAPPA, and the National Psoriasis Foundation Speaker Faculty. Outside of the office, Dr. Gonzalez spends his days with his wife, two daughters and 2 dogs. He enjoys traveling and watching his girls play volleyball, as well as playing tennis in his free time.

Robert W. Levin, MD

Robert W Levin MD is in private practice specializing in rheumatology located in Clearwater, Florida since 1989. He is an Associate Affiliate Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida. He is a past President of the Florida Society of Rheumatology where he serves as the Advocacy director. He is the current President of the Alliance for Transparent and Affordable Prescriptions. He is on the Board of Directors of the Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations, American Arthritis and Rheumatology Associates and the Florida Society of Rheumatology. He is involved in clinical research serving as a principal investigatorin multiple rheumatology clinical trials.

Dr. Tate is a private practice rheumatologist at South Florida Rheumatology. She contributes to the largest online news source for rheumatologists, Rheumnow.com, where she serves as expert faculty. Dr. Tate also serves as the Director for Fellows Education for the Rheumatology Winter Clinical Symposium.
