Mission

The circulative is a structured program tailored to educational necessities, covering a breadth of topics that may include, but are not limited to: rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative spondyloarthropathies, osteoporosis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, systemic vasculitides, IgG4-Related Disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, interstitial lung disease, inflammatory and non-inflammatory myopathies, crystalline arthropathies, dermatologic manifestations of rheumatic disease, systemic sclerosis, medical compliance regulations, intersection between politics and medicine, and intricacies of malpractice insurance.

Other goals of the SERFS Symposium include:

  • To create an environment for professional exchange of graduate education concepts and fellowship program development amongst participating rheumatology program directors.
  • Create a venue to allow rheumatology fellows to discuss and receive mentorship regarding career options from seasoned rheumatologists.  
  • Provide education on medical compliance, medical billing, contracting with payers, and negotiating financial aspects of private practice. 
  • Provide an opportunity to meet, network, and share concerns for the future of rheumatology with leadership from the Florida Society of Rheumatology, Coalition of State Rheumatology Organization, and the Association of Women in Rheumatology.
